FIELDTURF DUO STARS AT THE UNDER 20'S WORLD CUP FINALS IN CANADA
The FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 marks the first time in its history that FIFA has designated its second most important event, after the FIFA World Cup, to be played on artificial grass. FieldTurf is delighted that nearly half of the matches including the opening match with Canada, a quarter-final and a semi-final game, and most important of all, the Championship Final will be played on the most technologically advanced product in the industry FieldTurf Duo.
FieldTurf has proven to be a safer and more consistent surface than all others and will allow for truer rolls and smooth play throughout the tournament. These engineered turf systems at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium and Toronto’s BMO Field will be used for 40% of the Under-20 FIFA World Cup matches. The tournament’s final match will be played on the FieldTurf at BMO Field.
The ERDC Group has recently installed this system at Harmony Row Youth Club in Glasgow. The full size pitch is to be tested to a FIFA 2 Star standard. The club is delighted with the pitch and says that the standard of play will rise due to the excellent playing characteristics of this new monofilament surface.
ERDC have installed over 70% of the premiership training grounds and academy’s using the FieldTurf surfaces including Arsenal FC, Ipswich Town, West Ham United, West Bromwich,
